Working from home used to mean working from my couch with my laptop on my lap and my coffee on the floor. Not exactly the most inspiring setup. I knew I needed a proper workspace, but I also knew I didn't have room for a massive desk. My apartment is cozy, and I wanted to keep it that way.
Enter this little 31-inch rustic brown desk. It's compact, it's got this cool X-shaped reinforcement underneath that gives it character, and the warm wood finish works perfectly with my white shiplap wall. I set it up against the wall in my bedroom corner, added a natural wood floating shelf above for my photos and trailing plants, and suddenly I had a real office nook.
Now my mornings look like this: laptop closed (I start with journaling first), a steaming mug of coffee on a stone coaster, my favorite ceramic pencil cup holding pens and a tiny pothos plant that's somehow still alive, and a stack of notebooks for all those ideas I have at 2 AM. The light oak floor with that cream textured rug underneath makes the whole space feel warm and grounded. When the window light comes in during the morning, this tiny corner genuinely makes me excited to sit down and create.
