I've always wanted a reading nook. Not a full library with floor-to-ceiling shelves — just a cozy corner where I can escape with a book and a cup of tea. It took me moving the furniture around approximately seven times (my partner was thrilled), but I finally found the perfect spot: right between my cream recliner and the window.
This skinny three-tier side table in rustic brown was the missing piece. It's so narrow that it fits in that tight space without blocking any light, yet it has three full shelves of storage. On top: my chamomile tea on a wooden coaster with steam curling up (the timing of this photo was unreal), an amber glass candle with its soft flame, and my reading glasses folded on top of whatever novel has captured my heart this week. Middle shelf: a wicker basket with my cream throw blanket and a bookmark ribbon dangling out invitingly. Bottom shelf: fuzzy slippers and a small stack of magazines for when I need a break from books.
The recliner is slightly tilted back because that's how I actually read — not perched upright like I'm at a job interview. A sage green knit blanket drapes over the arm. The window behind has sheer white curtains, and that late afternoon golden light pouring through is the reason I chose this spot. The aloe vera on the windowsill, the braided rug in cream and sage, the warm beige walls — this is my peace corner, my escape, my favorite place in the entire apartment.
